New Arena Fence at Sidney Hawk Equine

04/18/2024

It has been a long process prepping the 200' x 300' area for an outdoor arena. The property, originally purchased from my Uncle Byron and Aunt Luella Crofut, nearly 10 years ago, had an elevation variation of 21 feet from North to South. Lots of Dozer time and fill dirt went into getting the property where you see it now.
My Uncle Byron, in memory of his late wife, my Aunt Luella Mae (Hawk) Crofut made a donation toward the white vinyl fence you see below. Lue passed away at 91 a short time ago. They have resided in Sarasota, Florida where they've owned and operated Crofut Trucking for nearly 70 years. Their contributions to the Sarasota Fair and Jr. Fair agricultural events are immeasurable, and it's no accident they have been following Sidney and her equine accomplishments for her whole life.
In memory of Lue, and the fact she grew up on this farm, owned this property the arena is built on, we decided to name it, the Crofut Arena here at Sidney Hawk Equine's Horse Park on Hawk Farms.

Now the long process of rock hounding the surface over and over, then compacting it and adding the footing begins. The weather has obviously not been cooperating very well on much of this outside project.

The fence was built by Swiss Valley Fence in Sugarcreek, Ohio. Excellent people to work with.
