Congratulations to CRA Welding... Gate Manufacturer

It has been our goal here at Hawk Farm's since we started Sidney Hawk Equine, that we would try and use as many local vendors as possible. Swiss Valley Fencing in Sugarcreek, Ohio provided an excellent installation of the white vinyl fence around our outdoor arena. Custom designing special transition posts for our four-board max safety fence along rt 93, to the three-board fence around the remaining arena. More about the fencing project and safety attributes built in our arena in another blog.

The outdoor arena was constructed with several different venues in mind. One of which will be helping 4-H kids from Wayne, Stark, Summit and Tuscarawas County with their PAS, (Performance Against a Standard) practice for state fair qualification. This includes contesting, horsemanship and many other variations of riding.

To properly construct a multi-purpose arena, we found it necessary to add many gates and opening around the perimeter. Some of these openings will need to open wide for rapid entrance into the arena for contesting. Other openings for bringing in the arena drag and to give easy access to clinicians and judges for different events.  We also planned an emergency vehicle, rapid responder or ambulance parking and entrance specifically for showing our appreciation of their community support. Three separate openings have been provided for their ingress and egress as well as a volunteer parents assistance in setting up barrels, cones, trot poles or just running in to congratulate their family member for a job well done. 

This brings us to CRA Welding participation. We could have used commercially available gates for these openings, but it does no good for our local community. We opted to search out a local manufacturer of gates we would be proud to display at our new facility.  CRA Welding LLC in Fredericksburg was our first choice.

They stepped up to the plate to support our local kids and agreed to custom build our gates out of aluminum and to make them highly functional for the horse requirements we will be using them for.
